Abstract: | In Science, especially biology, technology has become an effective instructional device, facilitating the study of abstract topics. Descriptive study design was used to investigate perception of tutors and students on the use of technology to enhance the teaching and learning of biology at the Colleges of Education. A total of 240 Level 200 Students and 15 Science tutors were polled for collecting data using a questionnaire. The three Colleges of Education used a combined sample size of 225 students. Participants ranged in ages from 21 to 30 years and 35-50 years level 200 Students‟ and Tutors respectively. The students were in their second year of degree programme. The findings showed that level 200 students generally find it difficult using Technological tools in studying. Instead, majority of the students and their tutors use internet in teaching and learning processes. Furthermore, inability of tutors to use various technological tools stems from a lack of expertise, as well as a scarcity of instructional software and hardware in the Colleges of Education. Technological and technical support system should be provided in all colleges so as to ease the problems of technological failures in the colleges. Regarding factors that hinder effective use of technology in teaching and learning of biology. The researcher recommends colleges to find solutions to some of the issues by engaging experts outside the colleges of Education |
