The study assessed the quality in education of private senior high schools in the East Akim municipality of Ghana. The research design used for the study was descriptive survey. A total sample of 207 including 9 headmasters, 98 teaching staff and 100 prefects, was selected for the study. All the 9 school heads and 100 students were purposively selected. The simple random sampling technique was used to select the teachers. The instrument used for gathering data was questionnaire. The results of the reliability test were r = .799 for the questionnaire for school heads, r = .755 for questionnaire for teachers and r = .789 for the questionnaire for prefects. The descriptive statistics such as frequencies and percentages were used where applicable to analyze data. The main findings from the study were that headmastersdo not involve teachers and students in the school administration. The schools do not have Board of Governors and the Parent Teachers Association is not functional. Teachers are demotivated and most students in the schools failed their Basic Education Certificate Examination. The schools have not created the right learning environment for academic work and ICT is not fully integrated into the curriculum of the schools. The study recommends that the school owners should ensure that the right environment is created to promote effective teaching and learning in the various schools.en_US
