This study is an examination of the scientific status of Marxism. I argue that Marxism is scientific as far as Popper’s falsificationism is taken as a serious methodology of science. The method of establishing this finding involves the use of logical analysis to provide a harmonious synthesis between Popper’s falsificationism and Orthodox Marxism. The need for the attempt to harness Marxism and science is a direct response to Popper’s remarks which seem to pose an unsurmountable threat to the scientific status of Marxism as presented in the Conjectures and Refutations. The study examines Marxism’s scientific status in the light of the falsificationist criterion of demarcation between science and pseudo-science and concludes that the scientific credentials of the latter is acclaimed by the former and hence Orthodox Marxism ought to be described for what it is, unfalsified scientific theory.en_US
