Abstract: Patient benefits and cost savings of laparoscopic surgery are well described in the surgical literature. However, laparoscopic surgery is rare in some regions of the world. Few studies have characterized its impact in low-income settings. We present one of the largest general surgery case series in Sub-Saharan Africa.
